The UEFA Champions League 2025/26 is about to begin, and for the first time, the final will be played at Hungary’s Puskás Aréna.
The new Champions League format continues for a second season, having started in 2024 and running through to 2027. The traditional group stage is gone, replaced by a single 36-team league table where every club plays eight matches against different opponents. As of now, 29 of the 36 teams have already qualified for the 2025/26 season, including giants like Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Inter Milan. The final seven spots will be decided through the ongoing qualifiers.
Our Champions League Predictions
Match day 2
Galatasaray vs Liverpool – 30th Sept
Tip: OV2.5 Goals & Both Teams to Score (GG)
Galatasaray’s home games have consistently delivered goals, with every single one recently going over 2.5 and their domestic league matches easily crossing over 1.5. Liverpool are also highly productive in attack, averaging nearly 2.8 goals per game, and many of their fixtures end with three or more goals. Historically, this fixture tends to produce goals too, with 3 of the last 5 head-to-head meetings finishing with over 2.5 and both sides on the goal line.
Atalanta vs Club Brugge 30 Sept
Tip: Home & Over 2.5 Goals
Atalanta’s home form in Europe is strong, with 4 of their last 6 Champions League home matches producing over 3.5 goals. Their attacking players, including Retegui, have been in sharp form and they rarely struggle to create chances even in tougher matches. Club Brugge on the other hand have a poor defensive record on the road in European competitions failing to keep clean sheets in most of their recent away fixtures. This combination makes Atalanta both strong favorites and likely to be involved in a high scoring game.
Chelsea vs Benfica 30th Sep
Chelsea Win
Benfica 3-2 loss to Qarabag exposed their defensive and concentration issues, and the arrival of José Mourinho brings a transition period that often affects stability. Chelsea, meanwhile, have been recording multiple clean sheets and generally win by more than one goal, with stats showing they often score first to gain an early edge. Given Benfica’s struggles and Chelsea’s strong recent form, the home side are rightly favored to take the points.
Marseille vs Ajax 30 Sep
Over 2.5 Goals
This fixture has a history of producing goals, with 21 scored in the last six meetings and five of those games ending with over 2.5. Marseilles’ defense has been inconsistent, and Ajax’s attack has continued to find the net regularly, even away from home. Both sides have conceded frequently in recent outings, which further points toward another open, high-scoring contest.
Pafos vs Bayern Sep 30
Bayern Win & OV 2.5 Goals
Bayern are almost synonymous with high-scoring matches, with their recent average sitting at about 3.38 goals per game and over 2.5 occurring in more than 90% of their matches. Pafos also tend to see goals in their home fixtures but concede heavily against stronger sides, which sets the stage for Bayern to dominate. With Bayern’s attacking quality and Pafos’ defensive fragility, an away win with plenty of goals looks highly likely.
Napoli vs Sporting 1 Oct
Napoli Win
Napoli’s form is impressive, built on a solid defensive record and consistent scoring at home, with multiple clean sheets in Serie A. Sporting may be strong domestically but often struggle away in the UCL group stage, especially against possession- dominant sides. Betting sites and match previews lean heavily in favor of Napoli, making them the clear pick here.
Union Saint_Gilloise vs Newcastle 1 Oct
Tip 1: Home Win
Union Saint Gilloise showed their quality in a shock 3-1 away win over PSV on Matchday 1, proving they can handle big European nights. Their home record is also strong, averaging more than two goals per game, and many of their matches cross over 2.5 goals. Newcastle, however, remains inconsistent with poor scoring numbers and a shaky away defensive record, giving Union both the momentum and form edge.
Juventus vs Villarreal – 1 Oct
Tip: GG
Juventus’ last five games have all seen both teams finding the net, highlighting both their attacking consistency and defensive frailty. Villarreal struggle to keep clean sheets away in Europe, and their defense often cracks under pressure. With Juventu’s attack reliable at home and Villa Real capable of grabbing a goal even in defeat, goals from both sides are strongly expected.
Monaco vs Manchester City – 1 Oct
Manchester City
Monaco are a decent attacking side, averaging close to 1.8 goals per game, but they concede often , at around 1.4 per match. Manchester City’s depth and European pedigree make them overwhelming favorites in such fixtures, as they consistently exploit defensive weaknesses and dominate possession. even though Monaco can threaten, City’s ability to impose themselves and force errors tilts this tie heavily in their favor.
